Testing Constraints

For the Power Point/Oral presentation I would put a 5 minute minimum and a 8 minute maximum. That way the students will know where they stand for information so that there is not the issue of too little or too much.

Holistic Rubric

I would ask students questions on what events a few of the women mentioned were involved in and what direct outcomes came from these events.

Assessment Context

The students will be required to do a power point presentation listing important women in history in the order of their events. They will also be required to verbally explain what each woman accomplished and why it was so important to our society today.

Learning Assessment

Grade Level: High school

Unit of study: Women in history

measurable learning outcomes:

1) students will demonstrate an understanding of women’s roles during World War I

2) students will demonstrate an understanding of what led to women’s right to vote

students will demonstrate an understanding of who Rosa Parks was and what she was known for.

Test questions for measurable learning outcomes

1) During World War I a draft was put in to place and many men left to be involved in the war. Women stepped up to take the place in many job positions that were left open because of this. Please list at least 4 jobs that women held during WWI.

The questions I choose for my test capture the outcomes I was wanting to see. It touches on a few historical women’s facts and important women figures. I also packaged the test in an easy to hard format. Multiple choice questions are always easier for people than essay questions. This makes the student think a little harder by asking them to explain in depth information regarding a person and time.

1.What year were women granted the right to vote in America?
a.)    1913
b.)    1917
c.)    1920
d.)    1931

2.What was one role that women DID NOT hold during World War II?
a.)    Police
b.)    Postal worker
c.)    Weapons maker
d.)    soldier

3.Who was Rosa Parks and what part did she have in history? Explain in detail.

In this post, I am going to list three measurable learning outcomes for my women's history class. My learning outcomes are based for the high school level women’s history because this is where I believe I would like to teach when I graduate.
  1. Students will be able to state when women were allowed to vote.
  2. Students will be able to list what roles women held during WWI.
  3. Students will be able to define who Rosa Parks was and what acts she is known for.
